I discovered the shape and design of the book box through Pinterest. I often find creating a mood board helps my brain stay focused and draw inspiration by discovering other lesser known artists relevant to my practice .

the process

learning about techniques such as identifying the direction of grain in paper in Dachaigh meant I was more confident and quicker when creating A'Choille having done the steps previously.

I chose to pick the same foil for the embossing of A'Choille for continuity between the works and also the colours mimicked the sea and seaweed I drew on the islands.
